Residential Project Developer Project – Interior Design Consultancy-Setia Ecohill Malaysia.
The SP Setia Group of Malaysia has once again teamed up with DDA, a top interior design firm in Singapore for their second project Ecohill – Satori Villa. With a gross development value of nearly RM4 Billion, this is part of a 1,000 acre development consisting bungalows, semi-detached and terraced houses measuring between 1,528 and 2,955 square feet.
This two storey villa is a contemporary reinterpretation of Zen. Discipline drives every design element. From the joinery works, choice of furniture, furnishing down to accessorising, this top-end interior charms us with discipline and control, yet subtly exudes understated luxury and comfort.
To optimise the layout, the car porch is hidden behind the TV feature wall. Sliding panels on both sides of the wall screen off car headlights and noise. They block off lights and act as privacy panels whether you are lounging in front of the TV or entertaining.
A double volume ceiling opens up the dining area and two different wood tone feature walls connect both levels of the house. Square dining table ingeniously paired with round back chairs and pendant lights create a perfect symmetry. It adds restraint and order in this modern redefinition of a Zen-like sanctuary.
The wood application continues into the kitchen with generous pantry and storage hidden behind clean lined cabinets. Simple shelves provide separation between the kitchen and dining area but also draw them together. The kitchen, visually minimalist, has ample space for lots of essentials. Grey glass backsplash blend harmoniously with white floor tiles, darker tone countertops and white cabinets to achieve a serene equilibrium.
The unique element in the master is the 800 pieces of unwanted wood blocks which were given new life by our award winning designer. Cut to shape and a few layers of spray painted finishes, they are transformed into an exquisite feature wall. It adds contrast and texture and easily becomes a focal point in this elegant hideout. A full sized walk-in closet and a bathroom fitted with a lavish bathtub and shower cubicle complete this luxurious haven.
A platform bed optimises space in the second bedroom for an active teenager to hang out with friends. A mirror wall enlarges the room and gives it lots of light for work or play. The third bedroom is practical and functional, yet tasteful and attractive. It appeals to any young working professional.
A bare space besides the stairs cleverly transforms into a cosy corner with comfy cushions and soft rug. Shelves and low cabinet provide more storage for knick knacks.
Our top designer wows every space with superb sensitivity to aesthetics and daring design ideas. In our granny/guest room, bold black accents defy traditional Chinese taboo to complete this exclusive masterpiece.
